Rosette leaves 4–6, oblong to elliptic, 20–100 × 10–30 mm, dark green, margins entire or crinkled. Flower stem 100–300 mm tall, stout, fleshy, smooth. Flower semi-nodding, 28–35 × 11–15mm, translucent white and green, apex brown. Dorsal sepal of similar length to petals, blunt. Lateral sepals loosely embracing galea and separated from petals by wide side gap. Sinus bulging in side view, broadly notched in front view. Free points 10–12 mm long, usually recurved. Labellum just protruding from sinus when set, 17–22 × 4–5 mm, brown, apex twisted to one side.

As these orchids die down to escape the summer heat, decrease watering in early November when the leaves should be yellowing. Give a light watering (just enough to stop the soil from becoming bone dry) every couple of weeks until early March, then give a thorough watering to soak the soil.
