Check the soil moisture before watering. Stick your finger in the soil and if it feels dry, it's time to water.
Use room temperature water. Cold water can shock the roots and cause harm to the plant.
Water the soil, not the leaves. This can prevent mold and mildew growth on the leaves.
Water deeply, giving the plant enough water to soak the roots.
Be mindful of the plant's needs. Different plants have different watering requirements, so research the specific needs of your plant.
Be consistent with watering schedule. Most indoor plants prefer a consistent watering schedule rather than an inconsistent one.
Be aware of the humidity and temperature of the room. Some plants need more humidity than others, and some do better in warm or cool environments.
Drain any excess water from the saucer to prevent water from sitting in the bottom of the pot and causing root rot.
